If you need a break from paradise, or just want to get in some shopping, we are just next door to many other fun activities and shopping opertunities.

Our location couldn’t be better!  We’re right on the beach with the Avenue of the Flowers Shopping Center directly across the street. Longboat Key is just off the North West corner of Sarasota, within easy driving distance of all the central Florida attractions.  We’re about twenty minutes from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, and five minutes from the shops on St. Armand’s Circle.



Mote Marine is a great way to check out nature, with out needing to get in the water too deep. A beautiful local aquarium devote to education and rehabilitation, it is a great place to take kids and adults. They have multiple locations, and excursions you can go on, as well as Activities and Events for varying age groups. At Four Winds we ask our Guests to turn off insides light at night/keep beach facing blinds closed during turtle nesting season- if you ever wanted to know why this is a great place to find out.  


If fish aren't really your thing, maybe the Save Our Seabirds Sanctuary should be on your to do list. They often give a discount if you show them a Mote Marine ticket, so maybe make it a double feature? They have many birds, and focus on the care of those birds, be they wild and endangered or to used to human to release or just not safe to be kept as pet.  For the kids they have a cool interactive App you can download, that acts as an information fun guide, and for the enquiringly Adult they have started a Native Plants projects that shows just how important native plants are to the wildlife here in Florida.


St. Armands Circle is a great break from the surf and fun, with events and statues John Ringing (of the Ringing Bros.) bough from his travels around the world, and Events every month- you can do much more then just shop. You can find many Spas here, and there is a type of restaurant for everyone. There are too many shops to, everything from the breathtaking art in Wyland Gallery, to and Official Tervis store,  lovely Settimi's Gelato, and for a hot and cold stop try some hot sauce at the Pepper Palace and then the Spice & Tea Exchange!  


For those last minute grabs, or just for stocking up on supplies there is a shopping center right a crossed the street from of with home comforts like Publix, CVS, and more. Perfect for extra beach towels,  forgotten sun screen or a Sub Sandwich Tray for your gathering or get together.
